Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Farmington, CT, Butchers & Bakers crafts a truly memorable American dining experience that keeps locals and visitors coming back for more. This vibrant restaurant delivers a masterful balance of rustic comfort and contemporary flair, offering an enticing menu that celebrates hearty, thoughtfully prepared dishes with a creative twist.

At Butchers & Bakers, the excitement begins with their signature Butchers Double Smash Burger—a succulent handcrafted beef patty, caramelized onions, creamy Boursin cheese, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomato, all paired with perfectly golden hand-cut fries. There’s something deeply satisfying about the way the rich, savory components meld with a slight smoky hint, each bite bursting with robust flavor and texture. For those seeking a classic comfort plate elevated to perfection, the Chicken Parm with marinara and melted mozzarella, served alongside pasta, offers a cozy yet refined option that warms the soul.

Seafood lovers and brunch enthusiasts alike will appreciate Butchers & Bakers’ famed weekend offerings, where fresh oysters and flavorful mimosa flights set the stage for an indulgent feast. The chicken and waffles are touted for their impeccable crispness and golden crunch, while the steak and frites, featuring a generous NY strip dressed in an exquisite chimichurri sauce, speaks to the kitchen’s finesse with perfectly cooked proteins. Even the sweet finale—a French toast evocative of churros—delights with its crispy exterior and soft, custardy center, offering a playful, satisfying bite that lingers on the palate.

The ambiance here strikes a warm, inviting tone. With attentive and friendly service, guests feel welcomed from the moment they step through the door. Bartender Matt deserves a special mention for his expert knowledge and craft—particularly appreciated by beer aficionados—ensuring your drink complements each dish impeccably. Whether you're gathered for a family brunch or an intimate dinner, Butchers & Bakers cultivates a relaxed yet polished atmosphere that encourages you to linger over each course.

Beyond the standout mains, the menu’s variety is impressive, catering thoughtfully to every appetite. Children’s offerings such as pasta with butter or marinara, grilled cheese, and crispy chicken fingers speak to families seeking a fuss-free yet tasty experience for little ones. Meanwhile, sandwiches like the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and Meatball Grinder offer robust, satisfying flavors that rival their entree siblings.

Butchers & Bakers clearly understands the art of well-rounded dining—combining quality ingredients, expert preparation, and a welcoming vibe. The balance of elevated classic American dishes, crafted cocktails, and warm hospitality comes together to create an inviting destination that leaves you planning your next visit before you’ve even finished your meal.

It has been a while since we dined in at Butcher's & Bakers as we don't have a lot of opportunity to get out for dinner. Today we went and received excellent service from Matt at the bar. He was friendly, knowledgeable & skilled with his drink service (I'm an IPA nerd/snob and he can talk the talk and walk the walk) as well as making fantastic suggestions in regards to our food. The meatballs and garlic bread were better than we remember (and we thought they were great before!). The short rib entree was amazing. And by far, the bread pudding was the best of the best! Matt's suggestion of having a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream (from local craft ice cream spot Honeycone in Chester) should just be how it comes on the menu. This introduction to Honeycone will have us getting it everytime we come back and we want to see their spot in Chester too. The ice cream was that good! So glad we came back and look forward to going again! A+

Fantastic Saturday Brunch! We had a wonderful Saturday brunch at Butchers and Bakers with our family. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the mimosa flights and cocktails added a fun, flavorful touch to our meal. The chicken and waffles were perfectly crispy, the steak frites with egg were cooked to perfection and paired with an amazing sauce, and the French toast—reminiscent of churros—was a standout. The food was outstanding, and our waitress was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. Highly recommend for a memorable brunch!

This was one of the best dinners I’ve had in a while! I ordered the burger with an egg on top, and the Parmesan fries, SO had pasta bolognese, both were amazing! We will certainly be back again!

My favorite item was the garlic bread appetizer. Definitely a good place for an above average lunch or dinner. Did not get to try their brunch which looks amazing. Service was pretty good, they are busy so it's not very often the servers come by but by all means it was good. They were very friendly. Food was not mind blowing. My pork seemed too dry or overcooked a bit but not by munch. The sides were the second best part for me. Would return to try brunch but not lunch or dinner.

Nice little spot for Sunday brunch. I’m not a drinker but appears to be good hangout for mimosa. I had steak frites it was NY Strip with fries, steak was generous portion and tender. My son had breakfast egg sandwich which he enjoyed, and we also did French toast. Returned again for dinner. House made bread was very good, along with meatballs app, entrees we had a burger then filets with mashed potatoes, root vegetables, & wild mushrooms on separate orders. Dessert was very good Warm Brownie Sundae

Great spot for farm to table dining experience for foodies! We had our best dining experience here tonight on a Wednesday night. Food was spot on and the service from Diana V was impeccable. This place is usually quite busy and favorable but the attention from waitstaff has been lacking lately. I was reluctant to recommend the restaurant for some time as a result. I'm happy to say that tonight's service has completely changed my mind. Short ribs and mushrooms both were cooked to perfection but this place never disappoint with the quality of the food.

We were in the mood for brunch, so we decided to try B & B. We were happy with our Eggs Benedict. The use of soppressata in the spicy version was delicious. However, the home fries were cold. Waiter substituted fries without any question. We will return.
